Accessibility Statement
Mermaid's Magic Sea Moss is a small, family-run business in Pensacola, Florida. We want every person who visits our website to be able to learn about our products, ask us a question, and place an order — regardless of ability, and regardless of the technology they use to get here.
This page explains what we are doing to make that true, what we know is not yet perfect, and how to reach a real person if something on this site gets in your way.
Our Commitment
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the internationally recognized standards for making web content accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
We want to be straightforward with you: we are not claiming that every page on this site is perfectly conformant today. Accessibility is ongoing work, not a badge you earn once. What we can tell you honestly is that it is something we actively work on, and that we fix problems when we learn about them.
What We Have Done
Steps we have taken to make this site more accessible:
- Semantic structure. Pages use proper heading order and landmark regions so screen readers can navigate and announce content in a logical sequence.
- Keyboard navigation. Menus, buttons, product options, accordions, and forms can be operated without a mouse, and a “skip to content” link lets keyboard users bypass repeated navigation.
- Descriptive alt text. Product and content images carry text alternatives describing what they show.
- Color contrast. Text and interface colors are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios so copy stays readable for people with low vision or color vision deficiency.
- Labeled forms. Form fields have visible, programmatically associated labels, and errors are described in text rather than by color alone.
- Readable, resizable text. Text can be enlarged up to 200% in your browser without content breaking or becoming unreadable.
- Reduced motion. Scroll animations respect your operating system's “reduce motion” setting.
- Responsive layout. The site adapts to phones, tablets, magnified displays, and narrow windows without requiring horizontal scrolling.
Known Limitations
We would rather tell you about these up front than let you discover them the hard way:
- Third-party content. Some features come from outside services — our customer review widget, the checkout, embedded maps, and payment providers. We do not control their code and cannot guarantee their accessibility. If one of them blocks you, please tell us and we will help you complete what you were trying to do.
- Customer-submitted content. Photos and videos submitted by customers in reviews may not always have complete text descriptions.
- Video captions. Not all of our video content is captioned yet. This is on our list.
- Older content. Some earlier blog posts and pages may not fully meet the standards we now hold new content to. We update these as we find them.
If Something Does Not Work, Tell Us
If you run into a barrier on this site — a page a screen reader cannot read, something you cannot reach with a keyboard, text you cannot make large enough, or anything else — we want to hear about it. You will reach an actual person, not a ticket queue.
When you contact us, it helps if you can tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and what device, browser, or assistive technology you were using. But please do not let missing details stop you from writing — reach out anyway and we will work it out together.

We aim to respond within 2 business days. If an accessibility problem is preventing you from placing an order, say so in your message and we will prioritize it — and we are always happy to take your order directly by phone or email in the meantime.
Ordering Another Way
If the website is not working for you for any reason, you do not have to fight with it to buy from us. Call or email and we will take your order personally, answer questions about flavors or ingredients, and arrange delivery or local pickup. We also sell in person at farmers markets and retail locations across Northwest Florida and beyond — you can find those on our Where to Find Us page.
Ongoing Work
We review accessibility as part of updating this site, and we treat reported barriers as bugs to fix rather than suggestions to file away. As a small business we do not have a dedicated accessibility team, which means customer feedback is genuinely one of the most valuable ways we find and fix problems.
